Fernando Rees is one of the most popular and richest Racing Automobile Driver who was born on January 4, 1985 in São Paulo, Brazil. Fernando Rees (born January 4 1984) has retired as a Brazilian racing driver. He began racing using go-karts in 1993, aged just 8. Fernando was the first single-seater to make his international debut in 2001. He also made his first endurance race in 2007 and has since competed in a variety of international racing championships.
Following his recuperation, Rees made his sportscar debut at the final Le Mans Series event of 2007: in the Mil Milhas of Interlagos. Competing in the Larbre Competition with an Aston Martin DBR9 and three drivers Roland Berville, Gregor Fisken and Steve Zacchia, Rees took victory at the GT1 class, after nearly 9 hours racing. Rees chose to stay as a participant in Le Mans Series. Le Mans Series for the next season.
In 2010 Rees returned to Larbre Compétition in the Le Mans Series, the same team with which he won the Interlagos round of the championship in 2007 – at that time, driving an Aston Martin DBR9. In 2010, after wins in the opening event at Paul Ricard, at the Algarve, and Hungaroring, and a fourth place in Spa-Francorchamps, Larbre Compétition secured the Team’s Championship with its Saleen S7-R in the GT1 category. Rees went on to win his third race in the 2010 championship at Silverstone, in the closure of the season. Larbre Compétition also won the 2010 edition of the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans.
After a brief hiatus in 2011, Rees signed with Larbre Compétition for the FIA World Endurance Championship in 2012. Rees drove the team’s #50 Corvette in the GT-Am category, replacing Pedro Lamy after the initial round of the championship at Sebring. Alongside his teammates Pedro Lamy, Julien Canal, and Patrick Bornhauser, Rees helped Larbre Compétition to win the world championship in the new FIA endurance series.
However, in the early months of 2006 on Monza, an Italian racetrack in Monza, Rees was unfortunately caught in a shunt an Formula 3000 International Masters test day in severe rain, and severely injured. Rees suffered two fractured vertebrae, three vertebrae compressed and a fractured ankle and various other injuries in both legs. This meant that Rees was unable to participate in the motorsports for a duration of 18 months , that’s 12 months in a serious state of immobilization and the remainder of the time by undergoing physiotherapy on a regular basis.

After four years of competing in the top single-seater classes in Europe (2001-2005) and having proven himself driving for the team with a low budget Interwetten.com during the World Series by Renault during the 2005 season, Rees was granted a test at the world-renowned Italian dream team Draco Racing in the winter of the same year. There were more than thirty drivers competing and including championship winner of the 2005 season Robert Kubica, Rees lead the field on the challenging course of Valencia and had over a half-second advantage over Pastor Maldonado, who emerged second. The test opened doors for Rees, the Brazilian driver as well as 2006 proved to be a great year for him.
Rees is a native of Sao Paulo. In the second half of 2003, he was offered an opportunity to test privately by Mercedes-Benz at Estoril, the Portuguese track of Estoril. On the 11th of December the 11th of December 2003 Mercedes- Benz held an official Formula 3 test among its official client teams from the Formula 3 Euroseries. Six drivers were chosen to participate during the testing: Fernando Rees, Robert Kubica, Jamie Green, Bruno Spengler, Alexandre Premat and Adrian Sutil. In one test day, Rees topped the time sheets while driving the Mercedes-Benz ASM car. The following year, Ron Dennis picked the ASM Mercedes-Benz team for Lewis Hamilton to compete in the forthcoming Formula 3 Euroseries championship, and Rees had to choose a different team to compete.
Rees made his debut in the LMP2 class of the Le Mans Series in the second round of the 2008 championship, in Monza. In 2009, Rees signed once again with the Barazi-Epsilon team in the LMP2 class of the Le Mans Series. For this season, Barazi-Epsilon decided to run a two-drivers team, with Rees and Juan Barazi. But soon after the second race of the championship, in Spa- Francorchamps, the team announced its retirement from the 2009 Le Mans Series championship because of financial problems. Rees was left without a team to race for the remaining season of 2009.
