He attended the secondary schools in Cyprus and then pursuing medical school in Turkey. But due to political reasons , he was unable to finish his degree at the university level. There, Soyer co-founded the Youth Federation of Turkish Cypriot Students (KOGEF) and was also the KOGEF’s leader for a short period.
Soyer, who was a former union leader who was a union leader, has been a part of the TRNC Parliament from 1985 (except for a gap of three years in 1990-93). He was appointed the successor to Talat’s post as TRNC Premier on April 25 the 25th of April, 2005.
Soyer was elected the new chairman of the Republican Turkish Party on 21 May
