Feras Kilani (born on April 2, 1976) is a journalist from the British-Palestinian region and film maker. He is also BBC Arabic’s official correspondent.He began his career in the media in 1995 at the Syrian State TV in Damascus in which he worked as Director and documentary maker until the year 2006 after which he left for Al Bayan in United Arab Emirates.
In November as part of his coverage of his coverage of the Battle of Mosul (2016-17) in Iraq, Feras Kilani and cameraman Marek Poloaszewski were observing soldiers from door to door to remove houses of suspected militants within the city, when the car bomb detonated. Video footage revealed IS unleashing a complete attack within the chaos which followed.
Kidnapped in Libya on March 8th, 2011, while covering the Libya uprising for BBC Arabic TV, Kilani was rescued at a military roadblock close to Tripoli together with 2 BBC colleagues.
