Fawad Ahmed (Pashto Fawad Ahmed (Pashto: fwd Hmd born on February 5, 1982) is a Pakistani Australian cricketer. He was awarded Australian citizenship on July 13, 2013. In the months of August and September He played for Australia’s Australian cricket squad in the T20I as well as the ODI match against England. He is the son of the world-class Pakistani cricketers Junaid Khan and Yasir Shah.

Despite his initial application being denied, he was awarded the right to remain in residency as of November. In the following year, Ahmed was signed by his team, the Melbourne Renegades, having been granted an exemption to play within the Big Bash League.

A devout Muslim, Ahmed has missed training sessions during Ramadan and is known to leave the field to pray during games. He has also requested that logos of sponsors whose activities he does not agree will be removed from his kit and in 2013, the logo of Victoria Bitter was removed from Ahmed’s shirt, due to the fact that Islam prohibits alcohol.

In Swabi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Ahmed began playing cricket for Swabi District in local competitions. As the right-arm leg spinner Ahmed made his debut as a first-class player in the team of Abbottabad in 2005. He played two games before being dropped from the team. Ahmed returned to first-class cricket in 2009 and was playing with Pakistan Customs in the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy.
