Fabio Golfetti was born Sao Paulo in 1960. He grew up with Pink Floyd, Gong, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles and The Rolling Stones (with their 1967 album, Their Satanic Majesties Demand being one of his top albums by The Stones) As an teen he began learning to play the classical and electric guitar, and cites Daevid Allen Syd Barrett Terje Rypdal, and Manuel Gottsching as some of his most influential sources of inspiration. In 1978, he started Lux the band that he formed his first. Lux then changed into Ultimato in 1981 which was an instrumental punk/no wave group that saw the entrance to the drummer Claudio Souza, and later became known as Zero at the end of 1983 following the arrival of the vocalist Guilherme Isnard (Voluntarios da Patria). Together with Zero the band, he was a participant in the production of track “Herois”.

In 2006, he performed on stage at Gong Unconvention 2006 in Amsterdam with The Glissando Orchestrae. “The Seven Drones (At Gong Uncon 2006) Live album that captured his performance at the event, came out in 2008.

In 2015 he collaborated with fellow Gong bandmember Dave Sturt on his second solo album, Dreams and Absurdities.

In 1988, he started an unofficial side project with Violeta de Outono. The project was dubbed The Invisible Opera Company (Tropical Version Brazil) heavily influenced by the style of Daevid Allen. It was able to release four albums so far.

Fabio Golfetti (born April 10, 1960) is a Brazilian musician and record producer, famous for his work with progressive/psychedelic rock band Violeta de Outono. He has also been guitarist of the Franco-British-based rock group Gong since 2012.

The year was 1985. Golfetti as well as Souza quit Zero and joined with Angelo Pastorello the influential psychedelic rock group Violeta de Outono. As of 2016, Violeta de Outono has released seven studio albums, two EPs, four videos and two live albums.

Golfetti is a full-time member of Gong since 2012; he previously toured with them in 2007, during a brief series of concerts in São Paulo, as a member of their “Gong Global Family” project. A live album of the concert was released in 2009. I See You, Gong’s first studio album with him as an official member of the band, was released on November 10, 2014.
