Ezra Hendrickson (born 16 January 1972 in Layou, St. Vincent) is a retired Vincentian footballer. He was a professional footballer during the United States’ Major League Soccer with New York MetroStars, Los Angeles Galaxy, Dallas Burn as well as Chivas USA, and was also a part of both the Saint Vincent and the Grenadines national team. He is currently an assistant coach for Columbus Crew. Following his outstanding 1996 campaign, Hendrickson was drafted 5th overall in the 1997 MLS Supplemental Draft by the New York/New Jersey MetroStars who he played in eight mediocre games in 1997. While playing for NY/NJ his fans have nicknamed him “The Caribbean Beckenbauer’. Midseason, Hendrickson was cut and was subsequently signed from the Los Angeles Galaxy, where the player was able to establish his position as a starting wingback and established himself for being one of the top wingsbacks in MLS. After seven years playing for the Galaxy, Hendrickson was traded to the Dallas Burn in 2003.

Hendrickson was also Captain of his Saint Vincent and the Grenadines national team and was among the best players of the team since receiving his first cap in 1995 in Barbados. He was a part of the team for 24 times in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in the 1998, 2002 as well as the 2006 World Cup qualifiers and 123 overall, scoring two times in an 1997 Caribbean Cup match against Haiti on the 27th of May in 1996.

Hendrickson played club soccer as well as basketball in varsity during his time at Western High School in Russiaville, Indiana. He played in the NCAA soccer tournament on the campus of Drake University from 1990 to 1993, during which time he was named All-Missouri Valley Conference 3 times and was also named an NSCAA third-team All-American as an senior.

After graduating, Hendrickson joined the amateur Des Moines Menace in 1994 in the position of striker and scored 13 goals during his first year. After a brief stint playing for the Menace, Hendrickson was signed to a professional deal by the New Orleans Riverboat Gamblers of the USISL. Hendrickson was a player in the Riverboat Gamblers, and was named Select League Defender of the Year in the year 1996.

When the Burn reorganised the team following their dismal 2003 campaign, Hendrickson found himself without a team in MLS, and briefly signed with the Charleston Battery of the A-League. However, not long into the 2004 season, D.C. United acquired him to play a backup role in their central defence. Hendrickson was selected fifth overall by C.D. Chivas USA in the Expansion Draft after the season. After a year with Chivas, he was on a move again, sent to Columbus early in the 2006 season. He retired after helping the Crew to its first MLS title during the 2008 season.
