In January of 2015, following months of being a free agent, Ezequiel signed for F.C. Penafiel. After playing in every age group with Real Betis, he made his debut for the team as a substitute for the second half of an away win of 4-1 over Granada CF for the Segunda Division Three days later his debut was in a 2-1 home win with UD Salamanca for the season’s Copa del Rey, and was signed to a professional contract on the same day, which will run until July 14, 2014.

After two substitute appearances and five appearances for the reserves He spent the following season on loan with Division 2 club Recreativo de Huelva.
