In the 2014 season He scored three goals, including the double with the New York Cosmos in a performance that was enough to earn him a place as a member of the North American Soccer League team of the week. in 2015 Frimpong became a member of the Rowdies their arch rivals Fort Lauderdale Strikers and helped them make it to the NASL playoffs by putting in a stellar performance in crucial matches particularly against his former club, The Tampa bay rowdies. In that game, Frimpong scored the game-winning assist that helped the strikers in winning their first Coastal Cup. After a year playing for the Strikers and a trip to Vendsyssel FF in Denmark for trials , but then joined Oklahoma City Energy FC on February 1st to play in the season 2016. Frimpong is an extremely versatile player, and an efficient finisher at the front. The most impressive qualities he has are his speed, aggressiveness technical dribbling abilities, and near-perfect ball control.

Frimpong was signed to Al-najma in 2016 and scored 3 goals in 12 matches for the side, playing an instrumental role in keeping them from relegation that season.
