In Puerto Cortes, Flores began his career in football at the local club Platense. Soon after, he was transferred to the renowned Olimpia which is where he made his name after departing for Santos Laguna. In November 2012, he got selected to be the “Guerrero de Honor” (Warrior of Honour) of Santos.
He was then exiled in the fall of Nicaraguans Real Esteli in October 2003, and he then ended his playing career. He was part of the team with Alex Pineda Chacon, Danilo Galindo Juan Carlos Espinoza, Nahum Espinoza and Belarmino Riosa in the Olimpia and they were crowned the CONCACAF Champions League in 1988.

A left-handed forward, Flores began his career with Honduras in the latter part of the 1980s. He’s earned 42 caps and scored 6 goals. He has played for Honduras at twelve FIFA World Cup qualification matches and was a part of 1993’s UNCAF Nations Cup as well as two of the CONCACAF Gold Cups.
He also played a few games playing in Peru with Universitario and was a part of the team with fellow countryman Cesar Obando. He also played also in Costa Rica with Alajuelense. After a couple of seasons in Honduras He retired from playing on the 26th May of 2001 for Broncos after which he travelled to another country and played for El Salvador with Isidro Metapan in the 2002 Clausura.
Dolmo Flores is married to Brenda. In March 2013, his daughter Melania Yazareth Dolmo Gutiérrez and her husband were killed in Puerto Cortés.
