What is the meaning of ESEM?
Environmental Scanning Electron Microscope (ESEM)
What is the difference between SEM and ESEM?
In contrast to ESEM, imaging with a conventional high vacuum SEM requires drying and coating of wet samples, and staining of poorly electron dense materials , which may cause significant structural disruption of the samples.
Which microscope allows the use of wet samples?
An environmental scanning electron microscope (ESEM) permits the imaging of wet systems with no prior specimen preparation (Inokoshi et al., 1996; de Wet et al., 2000; Idriss et al., 2003; Bergmans et al., 2005).
What is the principle of SEM?
Principle of Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) The Scanning electron microscope works on the principle of applying kinetic energy to produce signals on the interaction of the electrons.
