Erwin Hagedorn is one of the most popular and richest Serial Killer who was born on January 30, 1952 in Eberswalde, Brandenburg, Germany. Hans Erwin Hagedorn (born 30 January 1952 in Eberswalde Died 15th September, 1972 Leipzig) was a notorious East German serial killer who killed three boys between 1969 to 1971.
He was the only normal criminal to be executed within the German Democratic Republic, though executions for politically-motivated crimes continued until the abolishment of the punishment in the 1980s. The final execution is believed be the one by Werner Teske in 1981.
In May 1972, Hagedorn was executed in May 1972. A request for clemency rejected by the Head of State Walter Ulbricht. He was 20 years old. Hagedorn was executed with one shot to the back of his neck on the 15th of September, 1972. The body was then cremated and was buried in a secret location.

The 31st of May, 1969 Hagedorn killed two boys aged nine in a forest near Eberswalde by using knives. The bodies were discovered within two weeks. The investigation was extensive and a psycho-offender profile being created as well as The Ministry for State Security obtaining documents regarding the investigation into the West German child murderer Jurgen Bartsch. The initial investigations did not succeed.
A little more than two decades later, the 7th of October , 1971, Hagedorn slain an unidentified 12-year-old in the same spot and in the same manner the murderer killed his initial two victims. The key clue came from a child who claimed to have been sexually harassed during the year prior to when the first murders occurred. Erwin Hagedorn was arrested on 12 November 1971, and immediately admitted the murders.
