Faster Pussycat was created during the glam era of Hollywood through Taime Downe in the glam metal and punk boom in the 1980s. The first form of the group featured Downe as well as Greg Steele along with Brent Muscat. The band’s name comes in The Russ Meyer film Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!.

The band recorded a cover of the song in 1990. group recorded a cover version of The Carly Simon song “You’re So Vain” for an album called Rubaiyat Elektra’s 40th Anniversary and also filmed an accompanying video. The song later appeared as a track on 1992’s Belted, Buckled And Booted EP.

In 1993, Faster Pussycat parted ways with Stacy and hired Aaron Abellira to replace him. They embarked on a warmup tour, an American tour and then some shows in Japan. Most of the shows were sold out. They also played one last sold-out show in Hollywood at the Hollywood Palace.

The group signed a record agreement to Elektra Records, which released their debut album Faster Pussycat in 1987. The band gained a fan base in the glam, heavy metal rock and sleaze fans mostly through two promo videos from the album, featuring the tracks “Bathroom Wall” and “Don’t Change That Song”. The band was featured on the cover of Scream Magazine in November, 1987. group was featured on the cover of Screamer Magazine’s inaugural issue. Then in the United States the band toured together with Alice Cooper, David Lee Roth and Motorhead to promote the album.

Faster Pussycat is an American rock group hailing that hails from Los Angeles, California formed in the year 1985. The band was the most popular during the late 1980s when they released its self-titled debut album their gold album in 1989,”Wake Me Up When It’s All Over”, and their final album on major labels Whipped! in 1992.

Frankie Banali of Quiet Riot filled in as drummer for the remainder of the tour, after which Brett Bradshaw became the long-term drummer. Tours with Kiss and Mötley Crüe followed.
