The 10-episode series on television Those Who Kill (2012) which premiered on Denmark under the name Dem som draeber (2011) The show follows police detective Katrina Ries Jensen investigates several grisly murders that have strange psychotic overtones.
Her novels featuring journalist Dicte Svendsen started at the beginning of 2002, with Skjulte Fejl and Mangler (Hidden Errors), which continued in the following novels: Selvrisiko (Own risk), Personskade (Personal Damage), Naermeste Parorende (Next of Kin) Liv Og Legeme (2008) and Vold in magt (2009). In the year 2000 her novels were appearing by Germany, Holland, Sweden and Norway. Translations to English comprise Life and Limb (2012) Next of Kin, Three Dog Night (2013) and Dead Souls (2014).

Born in Nyborg in Nyborg, which is located on the Danish island called Funen and grew up in Lisbjerg close to Aarhus in the area where her parents owned an outdoor garden center. After completing her education in Aarhus where she graduated from the gymnasium of state in Hasle. She went on to study piano at the Music Conservatory of Jutland, where she remained for four years before switching to journalism at the Danish School of Journalism (Journalisthojskolen) in 1985.
After completing an apprenticeship at Berlinske Tidende in Copenhagen, she was an associate reporter at the daily up to 1992, when she resigned and relocated to Malta. In Malta, she worked in the field of freelance journalism as well in the capacity of a short story writer for magazines for women, such as Alt for Damerne. In island of Gozo Maltese island , Gozo she met her spouse, British thriller author Philip Nicholson and together they lived until his passing in 2005. Her first big success came with De frie kvinders klub (The Free Women’s Club) in 1999. This was then Scirocco and Mig og min o (Me and My Island) in 2000 and Opium in 2001, dealing with the challenges of marriage amid a backdrop of international suspense.
Dicte, a series based on several of Egholm’s books, was first broadcast in Denmark in 2013. It is centred in Aarhus, Egholm’s home town.
