Elisa Di Francisca (Italian pronunciation [e’liza di Fran’tSiska born on 13 December, 1982) is an Italian foil fencer who was Olympic champion of 2012, World champion of 2010 and three time European champion. She was in the 10-11 World Cup series and has seven World Cup victories to her name. As part of the Italian team she won Olympic winner in the year 2012 Five-time World champion, and the seven-time European champion.

In the 2004-05 campaign, she made her debut on the World Cup podium with a silver medal in Salzburg and then went to take home her first Havana World Cup. She took home the Senior Italian victory in the group event , and the first European title as well as while with the team. It was the World Championships in Leipzig saw her debut in the individual event. She made it to the quarter-finals in which she fell in the final to the Hungarian Edina Knapek. The results helped propel her into the No.6 in the world rankings.

Entering on 15–19 in the last relay she defeated 4–1 Svetlana Boiko, allowing captain Vezzali to level the score. Italy was eventually defeated in sudden-death overtime and doomed to a silver medal.

The 2008–09 season saw Di Francisca’s return to form with four quarter-finals finishes and a silver medal at the Dallas World Cup. She was called again into the national team for the European Championships in Plovdiv. In the individual event she was stopped in table of 16 by teammate Arianna Errigo, but in the team event Italy defeated successively Romania, France and Russia to take back the continental title, four years after Zalaegerszeg. At the World Championships she reached the semi-finals after defeating Valentina Vezzali, then lost to Russia’s Aida Shanayeva and came away with a bronze medal, her first individual distinction in World Championships. Di Francisca was born in Jesi which is a town in The province of Ancona in Marche and was the daughter of the Sicilian father as well as a mother who hails from Marche. She is the oldest of three children. Her twin sister Martina who was born in the year 1984, and the younger older brother Michele was born in the year 1991. She began ballet for the first time but was a bit for her.
