Robinson was selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the seventh round, 232th overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. He was the first NCAA Division II player to be selected in that year’s draft. He is the first Newberry alumnus selected in the NFL Draft since 1974, when Greg Hartle was taken with the No. 251 overall pick in the 10th round by the then St. Louis Cardinals. Robinson was claimed of waivers by the New York Jets on September 3, 2017. He was waived/injured on September 16, 2017 and placed on injured reserve. He was released on December 19, 2017.

A week later in the Vikings’ blowout win over the New York Giants, he recorded five tackles despite playing just six snaps on defense.
