Dona Cadman Biography

Dona Cadman is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on July 9, 1950 in Fraser Valley Regional District, Canada. Dona got married to Chuck Cadman (1948-2005) in 1969. They had two children: a daughter Jodi born in 1973, and the younger son Jesse (1976-1992). In 1992, their son Jesse was killed by a random act violence committed by a group of youngsters. In an effort to transform their tragedy into a force for the common good In 1993 Dona and Chuck along with a small group of friends established CRY (Crime Responsible Youth and Responsibility). CRY was a non- profit organization dedicated to improving the justice system and assisting vulnerable youth in hopes of preventing the possibility of further violent acts. While her husband Chuck who was elected later to Parliament, Dona remained active in Victim’s Rights groups as well as Criminal Justice reform groups.

Based on the copies of the tape at the beginning of June 2008 The Conservatives presented two affidavits from experts that indicated the tape was altered. James Moore, Conservative MP for Port Moody–Westwood–Port Coquitlam told a news conference June 4, 2008 that two audio specialists retained by the Conservative Party had determined that the tape in which PM Stephen Harper apparently confirms financial considerations had been offered to Chuck Cadman included “the insertion of a fabricated sound bite,”. The claim was later disproved by a court appointed FBI expert who looked over the original tape and found that the tape did not contain any alteration.

Under section 119 of the Criminal Code, it is illegal to bribe an MP. Accordingly, Opposition Liberal party Intergovernmental Affairs critic Dominic LeBlanc asked the RCMP in February 2008 to investigate this allegation, that the Conservatives had offered Mr. Cadman a million-dollar life insurance policy in exchange for his support on the budget vote. In May 2008, the RCMP announced that there was no evidence to support charges.

Dona Cadman alleged that her husband told her that prior to the vote, two Conservative Party officials offered her husband a million-dollar life insurance policy in exchange for his vote to bring down the Liberal government in May 2005. These allegations first became publicly known in early 2008 in connection with the scheduled March 15, 2008 publication of Like A Rock: The Chuck Cadman Story, by Vancouver journalist Tom Zytaruk.

In the beginning of July 2008 Dona Cadman swears an affidavit in which she challenged certain of the claims made by Tom Zytaruk however in a prior document, she stated the “recollection of her husband’s words to the effect that two Conservative operatives… offered him a million dollar life insurance policy in exchange for his vote,” writes Liberal Member of Parliament LeBlanc. The new affidavit discredits specific public accounts from Zytaruk of his visit to meet with Harper on the day he met Harper and also stated that he was “extremely surprised, disappointed and deeply distressed” by her claim.

Dona Cadman (born on July 9th 1950) is a Canadian politician, who was the representative of the district Surrey North in the House of Commons of Canada from 2007 to 2011. She was also the wife of Chuck Cadman, a former Member of Parliament from this same District. She was a member of the Conservative Party of Canada caucus.
