Dominic Oppong is one of the most popular and richest Canadian soccer player who was born on January 21, 1986 in Kumasi, Ashanti Region, Ghana. Dominic Oppong (born January 21 of the 21st of January, 1986 at Kumasi) was a Ghanaian Canadian footballer who was a player for the Atlanta Silverbacks in the North American second division of the NASL.

Oppong was one of the other signings by North York Astros head coach Vladimir Klinovsky midway through the 2009 CSL season to help strengthen his team’s chances to make it into the playoffs. He resigned the team after only two appearances. He then played briefly with his club the Edmonton Drillers in the Canadian Major Indoor Soccer League.

On April 8, 2010, Oppong signed with the Harrisburg City Islanders of the USL Second Division. He made his debut for Harrisburg on May 7, against the Charlotte Eagles coming on as a substitute for Kai Kasiguran. After Harrisburg failed to secure a postseason berth he signed with Portugal FC of the Canadian Soccer League for the remainder of the 2010 season. He helped Portugal finish fifth in the overall standings and thus secured a playoff berth. In the postseason he featured in the quarterfinal match against Milltown F.C., and in the semi-final match against the Brantford Galaxy.

Oppong signed with the new FC Edmonton side of the North American Soccer League on March 3, 2011. The club re-signed Oppong for the 2012 season on October 12, 2011.

Oppong was raised living in Scarborough, Ontario, attended Cardinal Newman Catholic Secondary School and then played two seasons playing college soccer for the University of Cincinnati, before transfer into Buffalo University at Buffalo prior to his junior year. Oppong earned an All-MAC Second Team selection in the year 2008.

Oppong began his career with the Canada U-20 national team the 6, 2005, in the game against Cameroon during the Francophone Games, and went on to be a part of the three games of the group stage.
