Born at the age of 1962, and raised in Madrid, Delgado studied law at the Autonomous University of Madrid, and furthering her education in law with an advanced master’s degree of EU Law by the Complutense University of Madrid.

Since 1993 Delgado was a prosecutor for the Audiencia Nacional. In her capacity, she was in charge of the prosecution of several prominent criminal and terrorist cases as well as well as promoting a number of Universal jurisdiction cases tried before the tribunal. Following her involvement in the 2004, Madrid train bombings, she became a specialist in Islamic terrorists.
