In 2019, Tryno released the single Cooler Box that was a hit on Zimbabwean charts. He also stated that he would drop his album of the same name Stories (Age Vol. 2) that he was unable to release the album on the promised date and also received criticism by his followers. In December 2019, he shook off reports of a tour to Kenya and canceled any other tour rumors.
In October of 2018, Tryno released his debut album Lazarus (Age Volume 1) that was the first album of the All Generations Entwined project. It was made available in conjunction and Zimbabwean hip-hop musician Ti Gonzi’s debut album “Best Mero” on the same day, at the same location and was considered to be an Gospel Album. The debut album of Tryno was widely distributed by radio stations, including Star Fm, ZiFm, Hevoi Fm in Masvingo and SA’s Metro Fm. After his debut album Tryno was able to combine urban, contemporary, sungura gospel along with Zimbabwean folk music. September 30, 2018 Diego released his first video “Mabvuta” live on ZiFm Stereo and Zimbabwe’s ZBC TV.

He was once a part of Zimdancehallmusic with the name Ricky D before switching to hip-hop. Tryno made his first hip-hop single in 2014, titled “Go Diego Go” and was awarded his first regional award at the Zambezi Music Awards the following year. In 2015, he performed his first live performance for Summer Jam followed by “I wanna see you” dance tour. He sings that is in English, Shona, and Ndebele. His debut Shona track came out in 2015 when he was featured in a song featuring singer TC. Tryno has collaborated with international and regional producers for the creation of his music. One of them is Dry AFM from Botswana who helped in the mixing of the song Yolo.
Tryno was banned from performing music by his parents and because of this, he performed music in private and did not declare himself to be Zimbabwean. He worked with radio station managers from other countries to get advertising and marketing. Then in South Africa they marketed him as South African on radios and online media, while in Zambia they promoted him as a Zambian. He was publicly identified as Zimbabwean in the year 2018.
