Lima has made his UFC debut when he faced his fellow teammate, and fellow Team Edgar Team Edgar teammate Eddie Gordon in the middleweight finals on the 6th of July in the 2014 at The Ultimate Fighter 19 Finale. Lima lost the bout via knockout in the opening round. Then, Lima was awarded both Performance of the Season bonuses for his submissions during the entire season.

Lima filled in as a short notice replacement against Li Jingliang on May 16, 2015 at UFC Fight Night 66, replacing Roger Zapata. He lost the fight by knockout in the first round.

Lima faced Tim Means on February 28, 2015 at UFC 184. Means won the fight via first-round TKO.

Lima was set to fight Pawel Pawlak in the welterweight division on November 8th in 2014 at UFC Fight Night 56. The fight was cancelled due to injury. Pawlak ended up having to withdraw from the fight due injury and was replaced with Jorge de Oliveira. Lima was victorious in a an unanimous decision.
