Despina Olympiou is one of the most popular and richest Singer who was born on October 17, 1975 in Limassol, Limassol District, Cyprus. Despina Olympiou (Greek: Despoina Olumpiou, pronunciation: [‘despina oli’mbi.u born on 17 October 1975) Also called Dena Olympiou, is a Greek Cypriot singerwho is well-known in her native country and in Greece. She was the representative of Cyprus during the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Malmo, Sweden.
The following year she released her second album under the name Exoume Logo. In 2005, Olympiou debuted her second album”Auto ine Agapi (This Is Love) with 12 tracks composed by Giorgos and Alexandros Pantelia (from Kitrina Podilata), in addition to one song that was composed by Lina Dimopoulou. The album’s first single album is “Kapote”.
At the 2008 MAD Video Music Awards, she won the Best Duet award for the song “O Paradisos”. In 2010, she releases her album entitled ‘Mia stigmi’, which became one of the most successful albums of that year, reaching Gold status in Cyprus. Considered as the most mature work by Despina, again penned by Michalis Hatzigiannis, included many hit singles like ‘Pano stin agapi’ which became a huge summer hit, ‘Adynamia’ and a very sentimental ballad entitled ‘Mi m’agapas’.
Later Olympiou released her album, Mazi Xorista once again cooperating with Michalis, with lyrics by Eleana Vrachali and Nikos Moraitis. The album was re- released in 2008, this time gold, and includes the song “Pes to Dinata”, “Mazi Xorista” and her duet with Michalis Hatzigiannis, “O Paradisos (Den Ftiahtike Gia Mas)”. The album also includes the new song “Omorfa Psemata”, written by Michalis Hatzigiannis and Nikos Moraitis.
The song was released in June of 2003. Olympiou was able to begin her work together with Michalis Hatzigiannis through the single from the CD Vale Mousiki with music by Hatzigiannis and lyrics written by Eleana Vrachali. The album featured an duet with Hatzigiannis, “Na ‘soun allios” and was extremely success. In the year following, the album was made platinum.
