Derone Jordan Raukawa (born on July 24, 1994) is a New Zealand professional basketball player for the Hawke’s Bay Hawks of the National Basketball League (NBL).
The 6th of November in 2015 was the date that Raukawa joined the Southland Sharks for the 2016 New Zealand NBL season. He made his debut with the Sharks during the season opener on the 12th of March 2016, scoring a team record 20 points in 8-of-12 shooting from on the bench during a loss of 106-80 against the Nelson Giants. On April 3 Raukawa was the first player to start with the Sharks as a replacement for the injured Jordair Jett. He scored 24 points, a record-setting number in just 30 minutes in a victory of 101-87 against Hawke’s Bay Hawke’s Bay Hawks. Raukawa was a pleasant surprise with the Sharks in the 2016 season. He brought a lot of energy for the Sharks and played large minutes. He was able to help the Sharks finish their regular season in the third spot having an overall record of 11-7. In their semi-final match with the Wellington Saints, the Sharks were defeated by 79-75. Raukawa played in 18 of 19 games played by the team in the 2016 season, averaging 10.8 per game, 1.8 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game.
On 5 June 2016, Raukawa was named a replacement for Jarrod Kenny on the New Zealand Tall Blacks roster for their Asia tour and their FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament campaign. He made the final 12-man squad two weeks later after impressing head coach Paul Henare.
On 24 August 2016, Raukawa signed with the New Zealand Breakers as a development player for the 2016–17 NBL season. On 17 September 2016, Raukawa made his debut in a Breakers uniform in the team’s final pre-season clash with the Brisbane Bullets. Playing in front of his home crowd in Southland, Raukawa finished with a team-high 13 points on 4-of-11 shooting in 28 minutes of action, as the Breakers were defeated 86–77. He later sustained a broken finger, which resulted in six weeks on the sidelines. He appeared in just one game for the Breakers during the 2016–17 season, making his NBL debut on 18 November 2016 against the Illawarra Hawks.
Raukawa relocated schools again in 2013 and this time, in 2013 to Rangitoto College. He coached Rangitoto into winning the 2013, National Secondary Schools Basketball Final which they lost against Westlake Boys High School. In the championship, he scored 35 points game and was selected to the all- tournament squad.

Raukawa was born in Levin, New Zealand, but he left when he was just five years old. He was a resident of Tauranga before moving to Australia and then returned to Auckland. The year 2011, Raukawa was a player with Otumoetai College and the Tauranga rep team, before moving to Auckland in the beginning of 2012, and began his studies in Rosmini College. In the same year Raukawa was a member of the New Zealand Breakers Academy and often practiced alongside players from the Senior team. Additionally, he spent the opportunity to spend two weeks with China and was captain of the Junior Tall Blacks against Slovenia and China, Slovenia United States and China. He was then a player with Waitakere West at the national under-21 championship in Porirua and then led Waitakere West to the under-19 championship in Dunedin defeating North Harbour with a score of 90-89 during the championship. He was later named to the all-tournament squad.
After having spent during the 2013 New Zealand NBL season as an extended player from the Waikato Pistons, Raukawa moved to Manawatu in 2014 and signed with the Jets as an amateur player to ensure the right to participate in in college basketball within America. Raukawa was impressive during the first season of his tenure, winning the co-Rookie of Week award for Round 4 when he scored an all-time high of 21 points in 7-of-12 shooting versus The Nelson Giants. In the 12 games played by the Jets in 2014 Raukawa averaged 4.8 per game and 1.4 rebound per game. In the off-season, Raukawa was a player in the team Save Youthtown and helped the team take home their 2014-15 Mexicali Fresh Summer Jam title.
Raukawa returned to the Jets for the 2015 season and found his niche as a livewire off the bench. His high-tempo play gave the Jets a boost and despite more experienced guards in front of him, he made the most of his minutes on court. In 17 games for the Jets in 2015, he averaged 10.3 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game. Following the New Zealand NBL season, Raukawa joined the New Zealand Breakers training squad for the 2015–16 season.
