King moved from Fork Union Military Academy in 2012 to Norfolk State. As a true freshman, King joined the Spartans and played in all 11 games as an outside linebacker as well as special teams. King recorded a record 5 tackles in his season debut against Virginia State. 3 of those were for loss, and 2 sacks. Norfolk State’s first win since 2001 was achieved by King with 2 sacks. He ranked 8th in FCS for tackles per game at 1.5, and 16th in FCS for sacks per game at 0.79. Kings’ sacking average would rank him third in the most sacks in a single season, since 1997 when the program transitioned to Division-I.

King was signed by the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent in 2016. On September 3, 2016, he was released by the Cowboys as part of final roster cuts and was signed to the practice squad the next day, then released three days later on September 6, 2016.
