Debbie Willhite (born December 28 1951) is a American Democratic political consultant and activist who has been involved in six presidential campaigns. She also was the policy director for Speaker House in Connecticut as well as the National Coordinated Campaign Director for both the 1996 and 1992 Presidential campaign of Bill Clinton. Additionally, she been a part of each Democratic National Convention from 1980 until 2008.

Willhite was a partner in FieldWorks, Washington, D.C.. In her time at FieldWorks, she managed a number of profitable campaigns on behalf of clients. These comprised that of the League of Conservation Voters canvass which was the biggest outreach to environmental voters that was executed in the era of 2004. In addition she also led CANader which was a successful grassroots campaign that targeted former Nader supporters and urged voters to support the Democratic candidate, rather than Nader. She also co-founded TIPPAC (Truth in the Politics and TIPPAC) in Utah in order to highlight the corruption that exists in Salt Lake County GOP. Salt Lake County GOP; and helped to organize VoteVets during 2006, and backed its first political goal, which was for a vote to select supporters from 21st Century veterans. In 2006-2007, Willhite helped in securing the successful bid for the Denver Host Committee to bring an invitation to the convention in 2008. Convention moved to Denver.

In addition to this experience, Willhite has served in leadership roles for some of our nation’s largest political events. She worked on the Yankee Stadium event for Nelson Mandela upon his release from Robbins Island; was Event Director for the 1993 Presidential Inauguration; and was Co-Executive Director of the 1997 Presidential Inauguration. In addition, in 1997 Willhite served as Executive Director of the Denver Summit of the Eight – the first meeting of the G7 to include Russia.

Willhite’s political journey began while attending graduate school in Orlando, Florida. She volunteered in a congressional race where First Lady Rosalynn Carter and Chip Carter made visits on behalf of her candidate. Soon after that she was hired to be Deputy Director for the Southern Region of the Democratic National Committee.

From 1997 until 2002 Willhite was the Senior. Vice-President of the USPS responsible for Government Relations and Corporate Communications. In this role, she was responsible for the more than 5,000 workers, and managed an annual budget of $300 million. She collaborated alongside Congress daily to oversee the activities for the USPS. She was in charge of the overhaul of the Communications department, and was responsible for its use of modern technologies in internal as well as external communications. She was the primary representative of The USPS during the anthrax attacks of 2001.
