McCormick took part in Ana Arce’s “Fire on Ice” 2007 Calendar of Team Sponsorship to promote curling for women.

McCormick was the skipper of McCormick’s United States to a World Championship in 2003. She beat Canada and was skippered by Colleen Jones during the championship final. This was the first time that the US had been crowned the winners of the World Championships in women’s curling and was her first international event as skipper. McCormick was back in the Worlds in 2006, and was awarded silver. McCormick continued to defend her title in 2006. US championship in 2007 after defeating Cassandra’s rink 9-3. She went on to win the 2008 & 2009 National Championships/Olympic Trials.

McCormick enjoyed a dazzling junior career, securing two bronzes and two silvers at numerous World Junior Curling Championships. In her early adult curling career, she competed for two World Championships: as an alternate in 1996 for Lisa Schoeneberg’s bronze medal winning team. They were first in the round robin rankings and defeated teammates Allison Pottinger in a best-of-three final of the series to secure their spot in the Olympics.
