He made his debut in first-class cricket in 1996 , against Lancashire at Cardiff taking six wickets in the game. The following year, Cosker was on tour with the England under-19 cricketers during their tour to Pakistan.
In 1997, he received an additional time in the Glamorgan team because Robert Croft was playing for England. Cosker went on to spend the following couple of winters travelling in the England A team across East Africa, Sri Lanka, South Africa and Zimbabwe.
In August 2016 Cosker announced his retirement from cricket. In 2017 he was appointed by the England and Wales Cricket Board as a cricket liaison officer.
