Dead is one of the most popular and richest Medical Condition who was born on January 16, 1969 in Västerhaninge, Stockholm County, Sweden. Per Ohlin (sometimes called “Pelle”) was born in 1969 in Osterhaninge, Sweden. When he was a child, he was suffering from sleep apnea. When he was 10 he was afflicted with internal bleeding after his spleen ruptured following an alleged an ice-skating accident. In the Swedish metal book Blod eld dod (‘Blood Fire Death’, a reference to Swedish Bathory’s 4th album Blood Fire Death), Dead’s brother claimed through an intimate interview Dead was Dead was bullied at the school. One day, he suffered a beating to the point the spleen ruptured. Dead was rushed to a hospital in which he was, for a while, declared medically dead.

Dead was prone to self-injury during a performance. At a gig in the year 1990 the singer cut his arm by slicing a bottle. Faust says that Dead was taken to the hospital following the show however, he arrived late and , as a result “it was no use to give him stitches”.

On 8 April 1991, while left alone in the house, Dead slit his wrists and throat with a knife and then shot himself in the forehead with a shotgun. He left a brief suicide note which started by saying, “Excuse the blood…”.

By 1991, Dead, Euronymous and Hellhammer were living in a house in the woods near Kråkstad, which was used as a place for the band to rehearse. According to Hellhammer, Dead spent much of his time writing letters and drawing. He “just sat in his room and became more and more depressed”. Mayhem bassist Necrobutcher said that, after living together for a while, Dead and Euronymous “got on each other’s nerves a lot”. Hellhammer recalls that Dead once went outside to sleep in the woods because Euronymous was playing synth music that Dead hated. Euronymous then went outside and began shooting into the air with a shotgun. Varg Vikernes of Burzum claims that Dead once stabbed Euronymous with a knife. He also claims to have sent Mayhem ammunition, including shotgun shells, as a Christmas gift, although he claimed those were not the shells Dead used to kill himself, and that he saved a special shell for his suicide.

In the early part of 1986, he formed in the early months of 1986, the Swedish Black/Death Metal group Morbid in early 1986, and recorded a demo disc titled December Moon. Soon after, he realized Morbid was going nowhere and reached out to Mayhem’s members. Mayhem. Based on Mayhem the bassist Jorn “Necrobutcher” Stubberud, the band initially received an unassuming package that contained an unreleased Demo tape and a note describing his plans for the future and a mouse that had been crucified. While Necrobutcher did not receive the package however, he saved the tape that contained Dead’s contact info. Dead relocated from Norway before joining the group in the beginning of 1988.

Per Yngve Ohlin (16 January 1969 until 8 April, 1991) was better known as the Stage name Dead and his nickname Pelle was a Swedish black metal musician most well-known as the lead singer and lyricist for Mayhem, the Norwegian black metal group Mayhem in 1988, until the time of his death in 1991. He also sang as a vocalist in The Swedish death metal group Morbid in their debut album, December Moon. Dead was a cult name in that Norwegian Black Metal scene. Roadrunner Records ranked him No. 48 out of 50 of The Greatest Metal Front-Men of All Time.

When it came to concerts, Dead went to great efforts to make the appearance and mood he desired. Since the very beginning of his career Dead was known to sport “corpse paint”, which included covering his face in white and black makeup. As per Necrobutcher, “[i]t wasn’t anything to do with the way Kiss and Alice Cooper used makeup. Dead actually wanted to look like a corpse. He didn’t do it to look cool”. Hellhammer said it was because Dead “was the first black metal musician to use corpse paint,” however Euronymous is seen sporting corpse paint in footage of an event in 1986 at Ski. To create a more eerie image of a corpse, Dead would bury his stage clothes , then take them out to wear during the night of an event. According to Hellhammer:

An obituary in a Swedish newspaper stated that Dead’s funeral was held at Österhaninge kyrka (Eastern Haninge Church) on Friday 26 April 1991. He was buried at Österhaninge begravningsplats (Eastern Haninge graveyard) in Stockholm.
