Murschell first played in a darts event that was telecast in the year 2017, when he competed at the North American Championship, defeating David Cameron, before losing to eventual winner Willard Bruguier. After qualifying for the tournament and also qualifying to play in the 2017 US Darts Masters in Las Vegas in which he was faced with James Wade in the first round.
