Texeira was purchased from FC Dallas of Major League Soccer on February 21, 2014. He joined the club as a Designated Player on an unspecified contract. His debut came on the 16th of March during a draw 1-1 with Sporting Kansas City, replacing Mauro Diaz in the final 12 minutes. He was awarded a free kick which was the catalyst for the late equaliser for his team. In his debut season the striker scored four goals in the journey to an Western Conference semi-finals, including two goals in a home 3-1 victory against Seattle Sounders FC on 24 September.

In January 2016, Texeira returned to European football by joining Sivasspor of the Turkish Süper Lig. Unemployed during the summer, he signed for Vitória S.C. of Portugal’s Primeira Liga on 10 September. He was a 57th-minute substitute for Ghislain Konan in the 2017 Taça de Portugal Final, a 2–1 loss to S.L. Benfica.

After 25 games and six total goals for the team from Guimarães, Texeira was allowed to leave by manager Pedro Martins in January 2018 and headed for AEL Limassol in the Cypriot First Division. On 26 July that year he returned to the city, signing a two-year deal with Moreirense F.C. including the option of a third.

Then, in August of 2011, he was moved into FC Groningen. It was the Eredivisie debut on September 11, 2011 in a match against SC Heerenveen, and scored his first goal for the club’s new team in the match against AZ at the time of the 2010-11 KNVB Cup. In January, during the time frame for transfers, Texeira was heavily linked with the possibility of a move to Liverpool and would have seen him team alongside National teammates Sebastian Coates and Luis Suarez. The rumours proved to be untrue and Texeira was able to stay at Groningen. The 2012-13 campaign, he was a player in the midfield position and finished the season with the team playing 29 times and scoring five goals.
