David Paisley (born 2 February 1979) is a Scottish actor, best famous for his roles as the Midwife Ben Saunders in Holby City, Ryan Taylor in Tinsel Town and, most recently, Rory Murdoch in River City. Certain of his characters have come under scrutiny because of their sexual orientation.

In 2008, he appeared in an independent short-film Sweat which was screened in the London Lesbian and Gay Film Festival and was selected to be screened in NewFest at New York, June 2008.

Paisley completed filming on his regular role as Rory Murdoch on BBC Scotland’s River City, the son of gangster Lenny Murdoch and departed the show in 2009.

He also starred as Rick in the 2010 horror film Unhappy Birthday.

Paisley is the child of the author Janet Paisley, one of six sons. Paisley was named the ‘Britain’s most best-looking man in the readers’ poll in Gay Times magazine in 2003. Paisley is vegetarian.

Paisley started acting in the teen years after he learned about an audition process for the television the drama Tinsel Town, a 1999-2000 TV drama (co- produced through BBC Scotland and Raindog/Deep Indigo Productions). He was later cast as one of the principal protagonists, Ryan Taylor, the 17-year-old boyfriend of an officer in the police force.
