David Jeremy Matthew Mercer (born 7 May 1962) was a former English cricketer. Mercer was a right-handed batsman and bowled with his right arm off break. He was born in Warrington, Lancashire.

In 1997, he joined Bedfordshire. The Minor Counties Championship debut for the county was against Cambridgeshire. From 1997 to 2005 he was a part of Bedfordshire at 47 Championship matches, with the last of which was played against Cambridgeshire. Mercer also played for Bedfordshire during the MCCA Knockout Trophy, making his debut in the competition as a county representative in the year 1998 in opposition to Suffolk. Surrey Cricket Board. From 1998 to 2003 the county was represented in 18 Trophy games, the last one being against Suffolk. The first time he made the List-A team for the county was in the match against Glamorgan during the 1998 NatWest Trophy. Between 1998 and 2001, he was a county representative in 10 matches of the List-A, the last one being in the match against Devon in the second round of 2002’s Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy which was held in 2001.

The year 1995 was the time Mercer was able to return Wiltshire. In his second time in the county, he participated in an average of 18 Minor Counties Championship matches, the final of which took place in 1996 against Dorset in
