On May 4 2010 Jalbert published his 2nd album Le journal. It featured the hits singles “Voyage”, “Le journal”, “P’tit homme”, “Rendez-vous” and “Y’a pu une once”. The hit song “Voyage” was a commercial hit, and reached in the Top of the Charts on the major radio stations of Montreal as well as Quebec. “P’tit homme” was the song “P’tit homme” was written for Jalbert’s son Felix. In the year the year of 2010, Jalbert was invited to appear on the television programme Salut Bonjour for a cultural documentary, and also performed in the Park Philippe-Villeneuve at celebrations of the National Day festivities. In addition, he received the prize of the Socan for his hit track “Voyage”, which was on the list of the top ten songs from pop that were popular in the year 2010.
For the first time in his career, in 2011, he was nominated for best contemporary folk album at the ADISQ awards, for his album named Le journal. The album was critically acclaimed, and is Jalbert’s most commercially successful album to date. With Des histoires and Le journal, Jalbert has sold over 25,000 albums. His tour show for Le journal was sold out. There was a second concert at the Lion d’Or in Montreal.
Later in 2012, Jalbert joined a project called Fondation Dédé Fortin. His song “Ma mère disait” was part of the campaign against suicide, which is an initiative of the Quebec Association for Suicide Prevention with the support of psychologists of Quebec.
The track “Raison” was the second most popular track from the album. It had more success with critics than Jalbert predicted the song would. “L’aveugle” was the third radio smash. By the end of 2009 there three music videos as well as forty shows. More than 15,000 albums had been sold.

The year 1994 was when Jalbert became part of a trio consisting of three. The group was dubbed Big Joe and they performed punk rock. Following that, he stayed focused on his studies to graduate from school , and later in a position to find a job. While he was at it, he continued compose and write songs.
The year 2000 was the first time Jalbert was a musician again in a variety of competitions. He participated for his first Mascouche competition MusiQualite and won two prizes. The first was a public’s choice , while the second was a jury’s preference. Through numerous contests, he experienced professional interactions together with Yves Marchand, Charles Dube and director Alain Dupuis. They assisted him in the preparation of his first album , Des histoires. They selected thirteen songs thirty tracks. The album debuted on April 15th the 15th of April, 2008. He began playing live shows for the promotion of his album on the 26th of August 2008 during the FrancoFolies of Montreal. This was followed by an appearance on tour throughout Quebec.
The song “Souvenir d’enfance” was the most successful song from the album. It became popular on the radio, and it was used in a McDonald’s advertisement. His creative director, Mathieu Dandurand won the prize for production of the year at the gala of Terre-Neuve. Jalbert was nominated for two categories for French songwriters (he was nominated again in those categories in 2010). His second prize was for the Artiste de la relève. He got the most nomination of any artist in the year. In 2009, he played in the Studio-Théâtre de la Place des arts three times and many other times in the Cabaret juste pour rire.
