David Hewson (born 9 January 1953) is an upcoming British writer of novels about mystery. His mystery series with police officers from Rome that are led by young detective and lover of art Nic Costa, which began in the novel A Season for the Dead and has been contracted to run at least nine installments published by British, American, European and Asian publishers. The debut novel of the author, Shanghai Thunder, was published by Robert Hale, in the United Kingdom, in 1986. Nearly all copies of the novel were distributed to libraries and the book has since been published again.
