After a accomplished amateur and junior player with a notable win at the English Amateur Championship in 2005 and 2008, he was made professional in 2008, and earned his spot through taking the title at in the 2007 European Snooker Championships, where the winner was Craig Steadman in the final.

He lost his first match in all eight remaining ranking events after this. As of 2009 Grace was a participant in singles snooker tournament for men in the World Games in Kaohsiung, coming in second place in this competition, and taking home an Olympic silver medal.
