David Terence Puttnam, Baron Puttnam, CBE, HonFRSA MRIA, HonFRPS, CBE (born on February 25, 1941) is a British film producer and teacher. His films are among them Chariots of Fire, which was awarded the Academy Award for Best Picture. He is on the Labour benches of the House of Lords, although it is not his main role as an elected politician.
He began making films during the latter part of the 1960s and worked for Sanford Lieberson’s production business Goodtimes Enterprises.
They produced The Final Programme (1973), a science fiction film, and made some more documentaries, Double Headed Eagle: Hitler’s Rise to Power 1918-1933 (1973), and Swastika (1974).
