Dave Lowry is one of the most popular and richest Canadian-Ice Hockey Player who was born on February 14, 1965 in Greater Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. David John Lowry (born February 14th 1965) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player as well as the currently the director of hockey for the Brandon Wheat Kings (WHL). He was a player in the National Hockey League (NHL) from 1985 until 2004.
Note: Lowry was named captain in December 2000 following his retirement from Steve Smith. He was later stripped the captain’s chair at the beginning of February in 2002 (by coach Greg Gilbert, because of his poor performance on the Ice), Craig Conroy and Bob Boughner were named co-captains.
After retiring as a player, Lowry began coaching, joining the Western Hockey League’s Calgary Hitmen as an assistant coach in 2005. Lowry was promoted to associate coach in 2007, and named the head coach of the Hitmen in 2008, succeeding Kelly Kisio. After one season as head coach for the Hitmen, Lowry joined the Calgary Flames in the NHL as an assistant coach beginning in 2009, where he served for three seasons.
On July 19, 2012, Lowry was named the head coach of the Victoria Royals of the WHL.
Dave Lowry was drafted in the expansion draft by the Florida Panthers before the 1993-94 NHL season. Lowry was one of the best players in Florida. He is perhaps most well-known for his time on the runner up team during 1995-96. He earned the moniker Mr. Playoff as he scored ten goals in that year’s Stanley Cup Playoffs. After five years in Florida the team traded him for the San Jose Sharks near the start of the 1997-98 season with a pick in the first round during the 1998 NHL Entry Draft (Vincent Lecavalier) in exchange for Viktor Kozlov and a fifth round selection (Jaroslav Spacek) included in the draft of 1998.

After spending the majority of 1988-89 with the Peoria Rivermen of the International Hockey League (IHL), Lowry joined the Blues for the final game of their season, which was 21. This included another ten games in the playoffs. Lowry was with St. Louis until the close in the 1993-94 NHL season. Dave Lowry was never much of a threat to the offensive, since his highest score for goals was 19 which he achieved twice, once with the Blues as well as his top number of points was 40 that was as well when he was with the Blues. The family was born in Sudbury, Ontario and raised in Ottawa, Dave Lowry was selected to the Vancouver Canucks in the 6th round, 110th overall during the 1982 NHL Entry Draft. He was a part of the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) prior to joining the Canucks at the beginning of the 1985-1986 NHL season. In Vancouver the team he was a part of the team for three seasons, only a portion of the 1987-88 season playing in the minors with the Fredericton Express of the American Hockey League (AHL). On September 29, 1988, shortly before the start of the 1988-1989 NHL campaign, Lowry had been traded to St. Louis Blues for Ernie Vargas.
After only three seasons in San Jose, Lowry went to the Calgary Flames for the 2000–01 season where he played out his last four seasons, with the exception of a brief stint with the Saint John Flames of the AHL. In his last NHL season, he played only 18 games in the regular season acquiring one goal and one assist. In the playoffs, though, he played 10 games in Calgary’s improbable Stanley Cup run of 2004 that ended in a loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning.
