Peirce was born on May 21st, 1959 in Washington D.C, the third of four children born to Margaret Daniels. His father, Frank Peirce Sr, a professional military officer in the United States Air Force, eventually resulted in the family’s move into Universal City, Texas when Peirce was only four years old. Peirce began his studies in photography in Samuel Clemens High School, and continued to work in the field after graduating despite the advice by the school counselor that he think about plumbing. He decided to study photography following his graduation from high school. He finished an online School of Modern Photography correspondence course in 1979.

From 1979 to the present, Daniel Peirce has worked in almost every area of professional photography, which includes police forensic photography photographing weddings and portraits managing photo labs and professional photography education. For the past 16 years, most of his time as an artist has been commercial photography, with a focus on the apparel and motorcycle equipment industry. The most recent and longest-running position he holds is that of photographer in charge of Tucker Rocky and Biker’s Choice Distributing, a company that produces photographs for the company’s motorcycle parts, accessories , and catalogs of apparel, which are among the largest catalogs of their kind in the country.

In 1985, the family moved from Universal City to Dallas-Fort Worth. In 1992, they moved again to the Hawaiian island, Oahu where they lived for three years before returning to DFW.

Past career highlights include: 1991 Louis Daguerre trophy from the Professional Photographers of America, 1995 President of the Corporate Imaging Association, 2009 chosen as official photographer for the Old Indians Never Die International Indian Motorcycle Rally in Traquair, Scotland.

In early teens Peirce began to take up the motorcycle riding passion again when he turned the age of 38. He rebuilt a 1972 Honda CL350 basket-case and started riding his bike again. In the following years the bike would be purchased by him in 1978 Honda CB750 that would become his everyday rider and the Landshark.
