The team signed him by the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2007. He played in the NCAA football tournament during his time at Kent State.
After being ejected by the Packers before the beginning of the 2008 season the team claimed him from the Indianapolis Colts. The team signed him to single- year $1.7 million deal on the 13th of April 2010.
Muir joined the St. Louis Rams on July 31, 2011, by signing a one-year $1.85 million contract. He was cut September 2011.
Muir was signed by the New York Jets on October 10, 2012. He was waived on October 30, 2012.
Muir was one of several siblings and has been raised by his Jamaican family from Lanham, Maryland. He got married to his college love of his life Kristin Wright on April 25, 2009.

Muir was not a part of the team in 2002 due to NCAA’s first eligibility rules. As a freshman He started the first 11 games, before handing over his position of starting to a senior for the final game of the season. He concluded his season with 46 tackles. In the beginning in the season 2008 his team was cut from the Packers.
On October 10, 2011, Muir re-signed with the Indianapolis Colts. He was waived on November 8, 2011.
