Dana Faletic (born 1 August 1977 in Hobart) is an Australian former national champion, state representative World Champion and dual-Olympian rower. The international representation she won was as a sculler although she also represented the Tasmanian state Tasmania in sculls and sweep-oared boats.
Faletic was not a representative for Australia at the top level until 2001 , when she was picked for a duo scull race with Monique Heinke. They competed in the World Rowing Cup IV in Munich before going to the 2001 World Rowing Championships in Lucerne where they placed eighth.
In 2002 Faletic broke into the Australian women’s quad scull with Donna Martin, Sally Robbins and Amber Bradley. They raced at the 2002 World Rowing Cup III in Munich and then went to Seville 2002. They were slow in their heat but won the repechage to make the final and finished fourth overall.
The 2003 World Rowing Championships were the main Olympic qualification regatta and the Australian women scullers trained in Canberra under Lyall McCarthy. Faletic and Bradley held their seats in the quad with the experienced Jane Robinson and the young Tasmanian Kerry Hore added to the crew. The quad performed well in the lead up winning at the World Rowing Cup III in Lucerne. At the 2003 World Championships in Milan they won their heat in an impressive time. They sculled the final to perfection leading at every mark. At the 1500m they had an unbeatable 3.45 second margin and finished more than 2 seconds ahead of Bulgaria. The quad won the gold and Faletic in the two seat claimed her sole World Championship title.
Faletic began representing her home state Tasmania during the women’s youth eight of 1995 when she competed to win the Bicentennial Cup in the Interstate Regatta at the Australian Rowing Championships. In 2001, 2002, 2004 and 2005, she was Tasmania’s sole Sculls’ representative to race for the Nell Slatter Trophy at the Interstate Regatta. She won the Australian championship in the year 2002, beating Western Australia’s Amber Bradley by 0.02 seconds and again in 2006, taking and holding a dominant lead from the beginning. The year 2003 was her best, and 2005 and 2006 she was chosen as Tasmania’s female eight- person team to race in the Queen’s Cup at the Australian Championships.

Faletic studied at Claremont College (Tasmania) where she began rowing. She was awarded her national Schoolgirl Scull title at the Australian Rowing Championships in 1994 and 1995.
Faletic became an international representative debut in 1995 at the World Rowing U23 Championships in Groningen, The Netherlands as the sole sculls rower from Australia. She finished sixth. The same year, she raced the single scull in the World Rowing Junior Championships in Poznan, Poland. In 1995, at the U23 World Championships in Hazewinkel she raced with a double scull alongside Anna Tree from South Australia and they placed fifth.
In club colour’s Faletic also raced the open women’s single sculls title at Australian Rowing Championships from 2001 to 2006 and in 2012. She won that Australian Championship title in 2001 & 2006 and placed second in 2002, 2003 & 2004.
