Dana August Dimel (born October 9 in 1962) is a famous American professional football player and coach. He is currently Head Coach at the University of Texas El Paso. He was previously the co-offensive head coach and coordinator of running backs for Kansas State University from 2009-2017. Dimel has also been a coach for The University of Arizona and served as the head football coach at the University of Wyoming from 1997 until 1999, as well as at the University of Houston from 2000 until 2002, setting an all-time record in college football of 30-40.

Dimel came back to Kansas State, and helped them achieve a record of 21-5 during the 2012 and 2011 seasons. The Wildcats were within the Top 15 each season and quarterback Collin Klein was a finalist for the Heisman Trophy. The year 2012 was the time that Kansas State was crowned champions of the Big 12 and earned a invitation into the Fiesta Bowl.
