Stephen Damian O’Neill (born 15 January 1961) is the guitarist of the pop-punk band, The Undertones. The group was formed after the death of elder brother Vincent In 1976 and remained in the group until their disbandment in 1983. O’Neill composed numerous singles and album tracks throughout the time of The Undertones, usually writing together with the bassist Michael Bradley.
In 2012 Damian O’Neill and three members of his former bandmates That Petrol Emotion, Raymond Gorman, Ciaran McLaughlin and Brendan Kelly are active as the London-based The Everlasting Yeah, playing kosmische Krautrock that is influenced by Musik combined with many individual soundscapes, creating stunning environments with their powerful guitars, rhythmic tunes. Their debut album Anima Rising was released in the final quarter of 2014.
As of 2001, the O’Neill debuted the electronic album experimentally titled A Quiet Revolution on Alan McGee’s Poptones label. Additionally, he, as X-Valdez (nom of the day) released 12 inches of “Higher Grace” with arrangements by Xavier Jamaux and Athena Constantine as vocalists at Toy’s Factory in 2000.
