Dametri Antonio Hill (born on the 8th of January 1974) is an American former professional basketball player. At 6’7, 229 pounds power forward He played basketball in high school in Dixie Hollins High School in his hometown of St. Petersburg, Florida and played four seasons of basketball in college for the Florida Gators. In his college years, he made it to the Final Four as a sophomore in 1994’s NCAA Tournament and was an All-SEC selection as a senior in the year 1996. After not being selected at the time of 1996’s NBA draft, he began the professional journey in Israel and, in the first season, he led the league with 22.8 scores per match. He then played with teams in France, China, Latvia, Cyprus, Portugal and Slovakia (where was awarded the title of league champion at the end of 2009).
He returned in America in United States in 1999 and played in the 1999 to 2000 CBA year with the Sioux Falls Skyforce, averaging 13.5 and 4.9 rebound over the course of fifty matches (35 started) in the normal season. He also played in two playoff games, scoring 15 points along with 3.5 rebound. In 2000, he signed with the Tampa Bay ThunderDawgs of the American Basketball Association, playing in the inaugural season of the league. In 2001, he signed with Shenzhen Yikang, and played the team’s sole season with the Chinese Basketball Association. In 2002, he returned in France to join Entente Orleanaise, a team that played in the LNB Pro B, the second-tier in French basketball. In the course of the season, he played in 23 matches and scored 17.4 scores and 7.1 rebound per game over 30 minutes of playing.
In 2006 he moved to Slovakia and signed for SPU Nitra. In the following season he ranked 4th in the league in scoring (19.3 points) and 3rd in rebounding (8.2). In 2009 he won the league title with Nitra, contributing with 17 points during the final game against Pezinok, and was selected for the All-Star game, during which he scored 15 points for the West team. After playing the 2009–10 season with Nitra, Hill moved to Astrum Levice, where he averaged 10.5 points and 4.0 rebounds in 20.1 minutes per game in his last season of professional basketball.
Hill retained his position as a starter throughout his junior year, leading his team’s field-goal percentage (.525) and was ranked second on the team for the scoring (13.7 scores per contest, a bit behind Dan Cross) and rebounding (5.9 in comparison to DeClercq). The team made it to the 1995 NCAA Tournament for the second year in a row and Hill played in the team’s sole game in the tournament against Iowa State Cyclones, recording 11 points and three rebounds in 30 minutes. In his senior year, Hill was named captain of the team. was able to play 33 minutes per game (a record for a career) and was the top player by score (17.6) as well as rebounding (7.8) average. On the 29th of January, 1996 Hill got the honour of SEC player of the week. On March 2nd, 1996, he scored a record-setting 30 points in a game against Tennessee with a single 18-footer game-winning shot. At the conclusion of the season, he was included in the All-SEC Second Team by the Associated Press and by the coaches. He also won the MVP award at the NABC All-Star Game.

Hill committed verbally to Florida in April of 1991, and made a formal commitment in November of that same year. His first season as a member of the Gators Hill played a limited amount of time, averaging just 60 minutes over 16 games which was averaging of 1.1 per game in terms of points as well as 0.6 rebound for each match under the guidance of head coach Lon Kruger. Hill decided to sign with the Israeli side Hapoel Tel Aviv: in his first year as a professional athlete, the team was able to score 22.8 scores, 5.6 rebounding along with 1.4 assists for the Israeli Basketball Premier League, and was the league’s top scoring player. In 1997, he relocated to France and was a part of France’s LNB Pro A with BCM Gravelines and BCM Gravelines. In the 30 games, he scored 14.6 points as well as 5.6 rebounding during 32.1 minutes of play. In 1998, he joined Hapoel Tel Aviv again, and played in 10 games during the 1998-99 season. He scored 18.2 scores and 6.5 rebounding within 36.7 minutes.
In 2003 he joined BK Skonto, a Latvian team of Riga, and played 33 league games, averaging 21.3 points and 6.9 rebounds; he also played in the 2003–04 FIBA Europe League, ranking second in scoring with 20.2 points per game: he was selected to participate in the 2004 FIBA EuroCup All-Star Day. In 2004 he played in Cyprus for APOEL, and in 2005 he transferred to Portuguese team CAB Madeira: in 18 league games he averaged 20.2 points and 5.1 rebounds in 29.1 minutes per game.
