Her name was among the very first South African woman to pass 1,000 runs in One-Day Internationals. She achieved this feat during a game with West Indies in April 2005 during the 46th wicket she played in.
After losing at the World Cup semi-final, South Africa didn’t participate in another international game for more than an entire year, except for the time they were hosting India. After the retirement of Olivier, South Africa struggled to make runs in the tournament, with Terblanche not scoring more than 64 over her in four innings. However, South Africa won the one-day series by a score of 2-1 and then they played their first test game since the year 1972. In a four-day contest, Terblanche scored 25 & 2 while South Africa chased 404, ultimately losing the match by 10 wickets.
Three years later, at the 2000 Women’s Cricket World Cup, Terblanche once again trailed only Olivier in South Africa’s batsman charts. And thanks to a streak of three not-outs, she had the better average of batting, with her 200 runs coming in at 40.00. Terblanche played a crucial role in securing a semi- final spot to South Africa, playing a significant role as a support player in the five-wicket victory against England with her 41 runs coming from 117 runs. Her half-century was her first in the fourth game of the group that was that was played with Sri Lanka, remaining not out when the team was able to win the match by six wickets.

In 1997, for the Women’s Cricket World Cup, Terblanche was wicket-keeper for the 1997 World Cup, but was then promoted to start the batting with Linda Olivier in all but two matches.
