On the 18th of August, CAF announced that they suspended the player for having two different names and birth dates. The Rwandan passport of Daddy Birori listed the date of birth as 12 Dec 1986, while the Congolese passport stated his initials Etekiama Agil Taddy and the date of birth as 13th December, 1990.

Additionally, Rwanda were disqualified from the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualification competition because of their attempts to mislead CAF. In a statement, CAF stated it was the “Rwandan Football Federation (FERWAFA) maintained that to their knowledge the player Dady Birori had one identity” but “investigations revealed that he was summoned as Etekiama Agiti Tady by FERWAFA to join the national team of Rwanda.” CAF also reversed the results from the Rwanda victory over the Republic of the Congo on 2 August. As the result Congo was relegated to Rwanda in the group A of the third round. Stephen Constantine, the coach of Rwanda commented the following “I am bitterly disappointed with CAFs[sic] decision, the same complaint was made by Libya and it was dismissed so what has changed ! [sic]”
