Donald Marek Snelten (born May 29 1992) is an American professional baseball player in the Tampa Bay Rays organization. He played previously with Major League Baseball (MLB) for the San Francisco Giants.
Snelten began the 2018 season with Sacramento. On April 28, 2018 the Giants invited Snelten in advance of a double-header. He made his MLB debut during the game’s second. Snelten was recalled in Sacramento in May and assigned to an assignment on May 28.
On April 15, 2019, Snelten signed with the Chicago Dogs of the independent American Association.
Snelten was taken off waivers by Baltimore Orioles on June 4 the 4th of June, 2018. He was released on March 25, 2019.

Snelten was a student at Lakes Community High School in Lake Villa, Illinois. He was selected to the San Diego Padres in the 30th round of the 2010 Major League Baseball Draft, however, he didn’t sign and played baseball in college in the University of Minnesota. He played summer baseball for the collegiate team of the Cotuit Kettleers of the Cape Cod Baseball League. Following his junior season the team was selected into the San Francisco Giants in the ninth round of the 2013 MLB Draft.
Snelten was signed in 2013 and played as a member of The AZL Giants, pitching 3-1, with an 1.57 ERA in 34.1 innings. He pitched in 2014 for his team of the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes and Augusta Greenjackets and posted a combined 4-1 record and a 2.56 ERA in 29 relief appearances. He also pitched in 2015 for his team of the San Jose Giants and Augusta with a 5-11 record and a 3.44 ERA in 23 total innings pitched across the two clubs. In 2016 he pitched for San Jose, going 4-7 with an 4.11 ERA in 31 games (13 starts) In 2017 He pitched in The Richmond Flying Squirrels and Sacramento River Cats where he posted 8-1, with an 2.20 ERA and 1.09 WHIP in 51 games out of the bullpen. Following his season ended, he threw for the Arizona Fall League. The Giants included him on their 40-man roster following his 2017 year.
On December 29, 2019, Snelten signed with the Tampa Bay Rays, getting exposure after throwing 99 mph in viral videos seen on Rob Friedman’s FlatGround Twitter account.
