He graduated in 1971 with a the degree of English Literature. He then went to the American Baptist Seminary of the West in Berkeley, California, where the seminary awarded him the M.Div degree.
The year 2009 was the time that Kille received with the Building Bridges Award by ING the San Jose-based organization which runs the Interfaith Speakers Bureau to educate people about interfaith relations. Kille is advisor for ING.
Kille died on June 30, 2018, after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
Kille was Co-Chair and Chair of Psychology and Biblical Studies Section of the Society of Biblical Literature. The year 2007 saw him appointed the editor of the Bible Workbench, a study source on the Bible that is based on an approach that is psychologically informed, produced in 2007 by The Educational Center in Charlotte, NC.

D. Andrew Kille (January 6 1950 – June 30 in 2018) was an American writer and teacher, biblical scholar as well as an interfaith activist.
He was a Pastor at Grace Baptist Church in San Jose, California for fifteen years before returning to the school. He was awarded the very first Ph.D. granted in Psychological criticism of the Bible at the Graduate Theological Union in 1997. His fascination with psychological studies and in the Bible was sparked during his time as a pastor. It was fostered by his work with Morton Kelsey, John A. Sanford, Elizabeth Howes and the Guild for Psychological Studies, and Carl Jung. The author has been a contributor to a number of books on biblical criticism of the psychological.
Kille was chair of the group that worked to create SiVIC, the Silicon Valley Interreligious Council in 2011, and serves as chair of the SiVIC board.
