On February 6, 2006 following being transferred in Nevada after being extradited from Boston, Titus and Ryan were refused bail. The 29th of March they both were found not guilty of the charge of murder in a felony for killing their assistant who was living in the house. The case could carry the risk of execution.
Despite previous statements asserting their innocence, both Titus and Ryan pleaded guilty to various charges on May 30, 2008, just days before their murder trial was set to begin in Las Vegas.
Anthony Gross, also charged as an accomplice in the crime, pleaded guilty in February 2009 and received probation.
As of December 5, 2005 Titus along with his wife Kelly Ryan were implicated in the murder of Melissa James, their personal assistant who was killed at Las Vegas, Nevada. Titus admitted to having an romance with James. After fleeing across country they were arrested by police in Stoughton, Massachusetts.

When Titus finished high school at 6 feet tall” and 140 lbs. By the age of 21, he was 5’8″ and 185lbs. When he began to see positive results from weight training Titus decided to turn into bodybuilders. The first bodybuilding competition Titus competed in was in 1988 at the Houston Bodybuilding Championships in which Titus took home the middleweight category for men and overall title.
In April 1995, in Louisiana, Titus pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute ecstasy and got sentenced for 16 months’ home arrest through monitoring using an anklet that was electronic. On July 27, 1997 Titus received a sentence of 21 months of prison for violation of his probation for using anabolic steroids.
On August 22, 2008, Titus was convicted of second-degree murder, kidnapping and arson. He was sentenced to 21 to 55 years in prison. Ryan was sentenced to two consecutive terms of 3–13 years in prison.
