Craig Matthew Nall (born April 21 1979) is an ex- American football player. He was selected to the Green Bay Packers in the fifth round of 2002’s NFL Draft. He played for the college teams of LSU as well as Northwestern State. Nall was also a part of the Buffalo Bills, Houston Texans as well as the Florida Tuskers.

The year 2001 saw Nall moved into Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana, where Nall became the first player in the history of Northwestern State University to exceed two thousand yards of total passing yards in a single season.

In 2006, Craig Nall signed as an unrestricted free agent with the Buffalo Bills, where he competed for the starting quarterback position until a hamstring injury suffered on the second day of practice ended his involvement in the competition. In 2007, he fell on the team’s depth chart behind J. P. Losman and Trent Edwards. At the end of pre-season, he was cut from the team’s final roster. Early into the regular season he was re-signed by the Bills but was released shortly thereafter.

He signed a one-year deal with the Packers on December 1, 2007, after they released Marviel Underwood. He became a free agent in the 2008 offseason.

Nall only had two attempts to pass during the 2000 season opener following a groin injury that hampered his progress at the conclusion of the fall camp.

Nall first played football in college during his time at Louisiana State University. In 1997, he was redshirted. In 1998 Nall was the second quarterback, behind the senior Herb Tyler. In 1998, when Tyler sustained an injury late in the game against Notre Dame, Nall came from the bench to take LSU all the way around the field in a frantic comeback. The comeback failed due to an LSU receiver missed the game-winning pass in the end zone on the fourth down as the clock was closing. Nall was then able to start the following week’s game in the final match of the year, 13 Arkansas. Nall was tackled six times, and threw an average of 147 yards. He also was intercepted twice.

The year 1999 was the first time Nall faced Josh Booty and Rohan Davey to be the quarterback. Nall was selected as the quarterback for the season opener , but was substituted after halftime, with LSU in the lead. Nall was intercepted once for eight yards and was intercepted twice in his fifteen attempts (completing six of fifteen passes for an average of 79 yards). Nall was only able to make one brief appearance as a quarterback at LSU in 1999 when he was given a mop-up duties the following week. Nall didn’t play the position for the remainder of the season.

He was drafted out of NSU by the Green Bay Packers in the fifth round of the 2002 NFL Draft with the 164th choice overall. Nall also started for the Scottish Claymores of NFL Europe in 2003 and was the league’s leading passer. In 2004 Nall played in 5 games as Brett Favre’s backup at Green Bay. He completed 23 of 33 passes for 314 yards and 4 touchdowns, with no interceptions, and a passer rating of 139.4.
