The summer of 2006 was when, he was transferred from the academy to an initial squad. On July 22, 2006 the player was made debut in Liverpool’s senior squad in a preseason friendly against Crewe. He scored the sole goal of the game when Robbie Fowler back heeled the ball in his direction and it was then smashed by his left foot into the upper part of the goal, as the Reds were victorious 1-0.
In the final they faced archrivals Manchester United. He scored the opener in the first leg which they lost 2–1. In the return leg, held at Old Trafford on 26 April 2007, Liverpool won 4–3 on penalties when the score stood at 2–2 on aggregate after extra time. Craig scored the second penalty in the penalty shoot-out at the Stretford End, bringing his goal tally to 12 in 12 Youth Cup games.
On 22 August 2008 he joined Bournemouth on an initial one-month loan deal and on 30 August on his full debut he scored against Port Vale. His loan was extended until the end of 2008.
Lindfield was awarded England U19 recognition internationally when he was picked up and picked as a player for an international game match against the Netherlands on the 5th of September, 2006, which was played at Bescot Stadium in Walsall. He also played for England during the friend international competition which was held in Austria in October 2006. having scored two goals against Austria in an 2-2 draw on the 9th October of 2006.

Lindfield was a student at Brookdale Primary School from 1993 to 2000 . He then attended Calday Grange Grammar School between 2000 and 2005. He played for his home club Upton CC.
He was a part of in the Liverpool Academy in 1996 aged eight and progressed through the youth teams of the club. In 2005-06, he won the FA Youth Cup for the first time as a 17-year old when Liverpool defeated Manchester City 3-2 on aggregate and finished the tournament as the top goal scorer for Liverpool during the tournament. He scored three goals, including two in the front of the Kop at Anfield in the aggregate score of 7-3 in the semi-final against Newcastle in the semi-final in the 2006-07 FA Youth Cup to secure the club’s second appearance in the final for the second time.
On 1 November 2007 he joined Notts County on a month’s loan, and on 3 November 2007 he scored 23 minutes into his league debut against Accrington Stanley which ended in a 2–0 win to the Magpies. He made seven appearances before returning to Liverpool at the end of the loan period.
