Doty (born August 27 1985) is an American college basketball coach who is currently coaching at Emporia State University. Before his present role, Doty was the head coach the men’s basketball team at Graceland University from 2016 to 2018. He led the team towards its very first NAIA national championship in addition to the Heart of America Athletic Conference tournament championship. Doty was the basketball men’s director at Rock Valley College from 2012 to 2016, and was awarded the school two NJCAA Division III championship.

In April of this year, Doty was named head coach of the basketball team of Emporia State Hornets. team.

After two national championships over 4 seasons Doty became the coach in charge at Graceland University in May 2016. In his two years with Graceland, Doty lead the Yellowjackets to a winning record which was 49-22 (.690) overall, and 30-15 (.667) conference and finished his tenure with a third national championship, Graceland’s first in the 2017-18 season. Graceland won the 2018 Heart of America Athletic Conference Tournament.

Doty the Alcester, South Dakota native began his coaching career by working as a volunteer assistant with Morningside College, where he was on the basketball team for the men’s team from 2005 until 2009. After earning the master’s degree, Doty relocated to Wyoming to take on the role of assistant coach at Central Wyoming College, where was later appointed as the temporary head coach throughout the remainder of 2 months of the season 2010-11. When the season Doty went on to be an assistant at Riverland Community College for half of a year before departing to work as an assistant coach to Sioux Falls’s University of Sioux Falls for the remainder period of.

After three years in the role of assistant coaches at four different schools Doty got the job of head coach of Rock Valley College, a National Junior College Athletic Association Division III school in 2012. In his four seasons as head coach, Doty was able to lead Rock Valley to a record of 113-28 (.801) overall, and 41-16 (.719) conference. and concluded his tenure by winning the team winning two NJCAA Division III national championships. Doty was the first team to win a national championship in his 2013-14 season’s second year with a 30-5 record and a 10-5 conference. The next season, Doty led the Golden Eagles to finish runners-up at the national level and a second national championship in the season of 2015-2016.
